Biography
Ton is a fourth-year PhD student specializing in Organizational Behaviour and Human Resources (OBHR). He obtained his Bachelor and Master of Business Administration at Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University, with an outstanding master's thesis award.
Prior to joining Haskayne, Ton spent five years working as an international human resources manager at LEOC Co. Ltd. of Onodera Group, being in charge of recruiting, training, and managing foreign workforce for the company branches in southern Japan. These diverse practical experiences inspired his research interest in workplace mistreatment, emotions, and leadership ethics.
His current research focuses on the dynamics of bystander intervention in workplace mistreatment and how organizations can improve the effectiveness of this practice. He has published his works in the Journal of Applied Psychology and presented at the Annual Conference of Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology.
