Biography
Kristian Belliveau is a PhD student in the history department at the University of Calgary, where he studies post-Confederation Canadian history with a particular focus on the First World War to the Second World War. His secondary area of study is the United States during the twentieth century with focuses on military and political history, diplomacy, and foreign policy. His planned dissertation will continue his MA work on the impacts of the Geneva Convention and relief organizations on the experiences of German prisoners of war in Canadian internment camps during the Second World War. Kristian works with Dr. David B. Marshall and Dr. Paul Chastko in the history department and hopes to see where his academic career will take him. He completed two bachelor's degrees in History in 2021 and in Education in 2023 with a specialization in secondary social studies teaching at the University of Calgary, and has also completed a Master's degree in History at the UofC in August 2024.
