Biography
Kimberly is an Associate Professor (Teaching) with a focus on advanced practice nursing, brain health and wellness. She is a PhD prepared nurse practitioner, holds a Master of Nursing degree from the University of British Columbia and is an appointed Designated Capacity Assessor.
Research
Areas of Research
Kimberly’s research has examined healthcare professionals' treatment decision making affecting people living with neurocognitive disorders and comorbid conditions. She has sought to understand how these experiences influence care relationships, decision-making, and health outcomes. She applies a systems-oriented and relational lens to explore how healthcare professionals, caregivers, and communities can work together to enable people to thrive.
Her current areas of interest are in advancing innovation in care delivery through entrepreneurship, with a focus on values-driven, community-responsive models. She is particularly interested in exploring peer-to-peer support strategies that foster resilience and emotional intelligence among nurses and healthcare professionals to enhance their well-being.
