Research

Areas of Research

Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Brain Health Optimization

Kimberly’s research has examined healthcare professionals' treatment decision making affecting people living with neurocognitive disorders and comorbid conditions. She has sought to understand how these experiences influence care relationships, decision-making, and health outcomes. She applies a systems-oriented and relational lens to explore how healthcare professionals, caregivers, and communities can work together to enable people to thrive.

Her current areas of scholarly interest spans intersecting domains. First, she is advancing knowledge in women's brain health, exploring how midlife hormonal transitions, cognitive change, and metabolic health intersect to affect mental fitness, resilience, and vitality across the lifespan. Second, she is committed to advancing innovation in nursing education and care delivery through entrepreneurship, with a focus on values-driven, community-responsive models that position nurses as system leaders and architects of sustainable healthcare solutions.
