Biography

Amanda is the Open Science Coordinator at the Hotchkiss Brain Institute (HBI), where she leads initiatives designed to advance transparency, accessibility, and collaboration in neuroscience research. She is dedicated to making scientific knowledge more openly available, ensuring that the significant efforts of researchers translate into meaningful impact for the patients and communities who need it most.

In her role at the HBI, Amanda is developing a comprehensive training program to support researchers in adopting open science principles throughout the research lifecycle. Her work focuses on strengthening institutional capacity for openness, fostering cultural change, and equipping trainees and investigators with practical tools to integrate open and reproducible practices into their work.

Amanda holds an MSc in Neuroscience from the University of Calgary and a BSc in Kinesiology from the University of Lethbridge. She is deeply committed to the belief that science should be accessible to everyone and that sharing knowledge accelerates discovery, strengthens collaboration, and ultimately advances the field of brain and mental health research.
