Biography
Afrida Faiza is a Graduate Student at the University of Calgary. She is pursuing a Masters in Sociocultural Anthropology at UofC. Has keen interest in the vulnerable population living in the urban informal settlements in Bangladesh. Over the last few years, she has worked as Research Assistant, Senior Research Assistant and finally a Research Associate in three different research based organizations in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Her research investigates the impact of family dynamics in the occupation of women from these informal settlements in Bangladesh. She is also curious about the concept of "space", particularly relating to women, and will be incorporating this concept within her research.
