The Nicola Computational Neuroscience Lab was founded at the University of Calgary in 2019 by Dr. Wilten Nicola, Associate Professor (July 2025) in Computational Neuroscience. Our lab uses quantitative methods in applied mathematics, dynamical systems theory, and machine learning to under stand how populations of neurons perform the complex operations and cause organism level behaviours. We work with both experimental neuroscientists and theoreticians in our research pursuits.
