Dr. Vikram Karnik is a Movement Disorders Neurologist. He completed residency training in Adult Neurology at the University of Calgary, and a fellowship in Movement Disorders at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Harvard Medical School.
He is the Adult Neurology Residency Program Director at the University of Calgary, and is the Principal Investigator for the Canadian Hereditary Ataxia Registry and Monitoring (CHARM) Study, a national consortium that maintains a coordinated registry of patients with hereditary ataxia across Canada. Through CHARM, Dr. Karnik and a network of investigators work to characterize the natural history of these conditions, standardize clinical assessment, and build a research platform to support future therapeutic trials and improve access to emerging therapies for affected patients and families.
