Biography
Dr. Theresa Wu is a hospital pediatrician, at the Alberta Children's Hospital. Her clinical care involves looking after acutely unwell, hospitalized children. While she looks after patients with a range of medical conditions, her interest includes providing care to children with medical complexity and higher acuity.
She has held various leadership positions in Medical Education, including at the undergraduate and post graduate level. Her current role is as a Pre-clerkship Director at the Cumming School of Medicine.
Research
Areas of Research
Dr. Theresa Wu has various research focuses in both clinical care and in medical education. Her clinical research includes micronutrient deficiencies and laboratory testing, and a special focus of the role of thiamine in acutely unwell children.
Dr. Wu's research in medical education focuses on Precision Medical Education. Projects include the study of effective learning strategies and outcomes in students in the healthcare professions, curriculum development and innovations, development of advising/coaching/mentorship programs to optimize learner outcomes.
