Improving the care of children who suffer from acute infectious illness:
- Management of paediatric gastroenteritis - ondansetron, probiotics & outcomes research
- Shiga toxin-producing Escherichia coli infection - rehydration therapy, hemolytic uremic syndrome, prevention
- SARS-CoV-2 – epidemiology, clinical phenotypes, asymptomatic transmission
Through the conduct of collaborative, multidisciplinary, multi-centre research and translation of the knowledge gained into improved clinical care, the goals are to develop and ensure that children receive the best available evidence-based care for the treatment of acute childhood infectious illnesses.
