Biography
Born and raised in the coastal city of Chennai, in India, Sarah speaks Tamil, English, French and basic German. She was fascinated by the structure and musicality of French in high school and pursued higher studies in the language. She holds a bachelor’s (B.A) and a master’s degree (M.A) in French. Her experience as a Teacher in French in India to students from different linguistic backgrounds has motivated her to study further the role of one’s mother tongue in learning a foreign language.
Her research interests include Second Language Acquisition, General Linguistics and Discourse Analysis. She is a doctoral student at the University of Calgary in Applied Linguistics in French. In her free time, she lets her creativity come to life - she makes crafts, does calligraphy and crochet, she also enjoys playing the piano.
