Health Services Research, Quality Improvement, Simulation

My research interests involve the use of simulation in the realm of continuing professional development (CPD) of acute care pediatricians and how this translates to improvement of care for front-line physicians. Utilizing simulation for ongoing maintenance of knowledge and continuing development of skills for use on a busy, pediatric inpatient unit is a practical and hands-on approach, believed by learners to be an effective form of medical education. The experience of physicians utilizing this form of CPD is that it improves the delivery and quality of care in emergency and pre-emergency scenarios. My research looks to further investigate and qualify this, such to continue to improve learner experience and thus, patient care.
