Biography

I am a Colombian scholar-activist working alongside peasant and small farmer communities on issues related to land and green grabbing, deforestation, and their impacts on social reproduction, with a particular focus on gendered and generational perspectives. My previous experience includes working in Peasant Reserve Zones, coca-growing economies, militarization, the war on drugs, and counterinsurgency strategies across various regions, such as the Colombian Amazon, Magdalena Medio, and Catatumbo, with a primary focus on their effects on rural communities. I am a Vanier Scholar-SSHRC (2025-2028), co-convener of the Political Ecology Node: Transdisciplinary Dialogues and Encounters for Climate Change Solutions, and a member of the Alternatives Center of Development (Cealdes) in Colombia.
