Biography
Dr. Sachin Pendharkar is a sleep and respiratory physician scientist and Associate Professor of Medicine and Community Health Sciences at the University of Calgary. He is Medical Director of the Foothills Medical Centre Sleep Centre and Cumming School of Medicine Sleep Research Program.
Dr. Pendharkar’s research program focuses on the design and evaluation of innovative models of care to improve timely access for patients with sleep disorders, with an emphasis on sleep-disordered breathing. Additional areas of interest include funding policy and health disparities as they relate to sleep-disordered breathing care and outcomes.
Dr. Pendharkar is active in several initiatives to improve the quality of sleep disorders care in Alberta and Canada. He has served as an executive member of both the Canadian Sleep and Circadian Network and American Thoracic Society Sleep and Respiratory Neurobiology Assembly.
