Biography
Dr. Sachin Pendharkar is a sleep and respiratory physician and Professor of Medicine and Community Health Sciences at the University of Calgary. He is a member of the O’Brien Institute for Public Health.
Dr. Pendharkar leads a health services research program that focuses on strategies to improve timely access to care for individuals with obstructive sleep apnea and other sleep disorders. Through strong collaboration with clinicians, health system leaders and people with lived experience, Dr. Pendharkar has examined funding, care delivery systems and other policy factors that contribute to disparities in sleep disorders care in Canada
Dr. Pendharkar currently serves as the Medical Director of the Foothills Medical Centre Sleep Centre at the University of Calgary. Prior leadership roles have included co-chair of Alberta Health Services' Sleep Disorders Working Group, executive member and health services research lead for the Canadian Sleep and Circadian Network and Planning Chair for the American Thoracic Society Sleep and Respiratory Neurobiology Assembly.
