Biography

Roshawn Jamasi is a Research Coordinator in the Department of Medicine at the Cumming School of Medicine, University of Calgary, where he supports hepatology clinical research and trial operations. His work includes patient screening and recruitment, research coordination, clinical data abstraction, regulatory and ethics support, and the management of industry-sponsored and investigator-initiated studies across liver disease.

His academic interests include hepatology, clinical trials, translational research, and health systems improvement, with a particular focus on improving access to research participation and strengthening study operations in real-world clinical settings. He has contributed to peer-reviewed publications spanning clinical medicine and public health.

In parallel, he is the founder of the Alberta Homeless Foundation, a community-based nonprofit focused on improving access to essential supplies and food through dignity-centered, data-informed distribution models. His broader interests sit at the intersection of academic medicine, community health, and scalable system design.

Projects

Hepatology Clinical Trials Operations

Coordination of clinical research studies in hepatology, including patient screening and recruitment, chart review, data abstraction, regulatory documentation, and support for industry-sponsored and investigator-initiated trials in chronic liver disease.


Clinical Trial Accessibility and Recruitment Improvement (QI)

Ongoing work focused on identifying operational and patient-level barriers to clinical trial access in hepatology, with the aim of improving recruitment processes, equity, reducing barriers to access, and real-world participation.


Liver Disease Outcomes and Observational Research

Support for retrospective and observational studies in hepatology examining disease burden, patient characteristics, and clinically relevant outcomes in real-world practice.


Hygiene Kit Distribution Network

Distribution of basic hygiene products in the community to increase accessibility to dignity & slow the spread of infectious disease through the Alberta Homeless Foundation.
