Biography
Dr. Rachael N. Pettigrew is a Professor (Teaching) in Organizational Behaviour and Human Resources [OBHR] and joined Haskayne School of Business in 2026 as the Associate Dean, Undergraduate Programs in 2026.
Dr. Pettigrew has over 23 years of post-secondary teaching experience at University of Manitoba, University of Calgary, Mount Royal University, and Red River College. She brings to the Associate Dean role experience as a department chair, discipline coordinator, undergraduate academic advisor, graduate/post-doc advisor with the Centre for Higher Education Research and Development and has Indigenous engagement experience. Rachael has taught with both Ndinawemaaganag Endaawaad and the University of Manitoba’s Aboriginal Focus Program, but most recently helped develop the Indigenous Business and Economic Development BBA concentration in partnership between Old Sun Community College on Siksika First Nation and Bissett School of Business at Mount Royal University (MRU).
Rachael’s primary research agenda explores gender in the workplace, inclusive organizational cultures, and legislated and employer policies, with a particular focus on the work-life interface. Her secondary research stream explores newcomer employment, with projects on newcomer settlement and employment in rural communities in Western Canada and northern territories and the treatment of migrant agricultural workers during COVID-19. Rachael’s research has been funded by SSHRC, Canadian Bar Association, and IRCC through Immigration Research West. She presents her research globally in both academic and industry venues. Dr. Pettigrew is also a public speaker and is regularly engaged with industry and media.
