Biography
Prosper Mandela Awuni, PhD, is a Postdoctoral Associate in the School of Public Policy at the University of Calgary, working with Dr. Jennifer Zwicker and Dr. Chad Bousman. His research examines genomics, vaccines, and health policy through a health-equity lens, with particular attention to the social, structural, and political determinants of health. Through the Pan-Canadian Initiative Linking Genomic, Environmental and Mental Health Data in Children and Youth (Pan-GEM), he leads pharmacogenomics policy research focused on governance, equitable access, and implementation in youth mental health. Drawing on his background in public-health practice, he uses mixed-methods research, evidence synthesis, and policy analysis to inform equitable health systems and the responsible translation of scientific advances into policy and practice.
