Biography
Peggy Gorrie is one of two Senior CSLC Coordinators who supports student learning outcomes by refining lab and simulation design requirements in collaboration with faculty. She is involved in the Faculty's Rural Initiative program and works closely with current and upcoming rural partners to ensure that their lab and simulation experiences are on par with the experiences of the university's Nursing students in Calgary. She is also involved, along with faculty and management, in preparing for the new curriculum now being rolled out.
Prior to working with the Faculty of Nursing, Peggy worked as both a cardiology nurse and an office nurse in a family medicine practice. Working in the CSLC is a way to channel her interest in the education of young people and help give graduating nurses the skills and confidence they need as they step out into their careers.
Peggy has various interests, from gardening, hiking and cycling to watercolour painting. She is also an avid hockey and equestrian fan. She has two beloved grandchildren. Peggy is a graduate of the University of Calgary, BN program.
