Biography

Nabil Royez is a graduate researcher at the Cumming School of Medicine, and serves as President of the Foothills Graduate Association as well as Governor on the Board of Governors, representing graduate students. His work bridges science, entrepreneurship, and student advocacy. Nabil leads a near-patient molecular diagnostics platform, where he aims to translate from bench to startup - bringing together interdisciplinary teams across engineering and healthcare. On the Board, he aims to balance a clear student perspective with the University’s broader mission and long-term welfare.

A community-builder on campus, Nabil has organized cross-faculty initiatives - including wellness programming and large student events - to strengthen belonging and collaboration between the Foothills and main campuses. As an entrepreneur, he is also the founder of Noble Mind Care, a mental-health advocacy platform dedicated to support and awareness in mental health and wellness. Nabil has represented UCalgary at innovation forums and industry showcases, promoting student research and university partnerships.
