Biography

Dr. Li has a background is in statistics and operations research for health care. Dr. Li is a data and statistical scientist in medical applications. She completed her PhD in the Department of Statistical and Actuarial Sciences at Western University in February 2016, then worked as a biostatistician at the McMaster Centre for Transfusion Research for three years.

Dr. Li completed a one-year postdoctoral fellowship at the Department of Computing and Software at McMaster University in 2020, where she focused on a blood demand forecasting and inventory management project in collaboration with Canadian Blood Services. She joined faculty in the Department of Community Health Sciences at University of Calgary in January 2021.

Dr. Li is an enthusiastic researcher in applying data science and operations research in health care studies. Her research interests are in the areas of operations research, mathematical modelling, applied statistics, data science, and applications of statistical methods for health-care researchers. Dr. Li works closely with transfusion medicine research groups, Biomedical Excellence for Safer Transfusion (BEST) Collaborative, Canadian Blood Services, and Sepsis Canada on multiple projects across several Canadian provinces.
