Areas of Research
My focus is on understanding the underlying mechanisms of inherited conditions that result in pediatric heart diseases, especially heart rhythm problems that result in sudden death. I have a particular interest on using the tools already at our disposal (e.g. ECG, echocardiography, cardiac MRI, ambulatory rhythm monitoring) and wearable devices to better predict which individuals are at highest risk of sudden cardiac events and provide more targeted advice to families. I am also interested in improving our understanding of the genetic basis of these diseases including trying to determine novel ways to treat, and potentially cure, these life-threatening conditions.
