Biography
Dr. Merkebe Demissie is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Calgary. He was a Research Associate and a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Calgary. Before joining the University of Calgary, he was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Coimbra, Portugal. Dr. Demissie received the Ph.D. degree in Transport Systems from the MIT-Portugal program (a joint program between the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and selected Portuguese Universities), the MSc degree in Transport Systems from the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH), Sweden, and the BSc degree in Textile and Manufacturing Engineering from the Bahir Dar University, Ethiopia.
