Biography

Dr. Melissa Smith earned a Bachelor of Science from the University of Guelph before completing a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at the Ontario Veterinary College in 2017. She then pursued advanced training, completing a postgraduate diploma in Large Animal Medicine, Surgery, and Theriogenology at the Atlantic Veterinary College in 2018.

Following her postgraduate studies, Dr. Smith worked in equine private practice in Sherwood Park, Alberta, until 2026. Her equine clinical interests include internal medicine, emergency care, dentistry, preventative and geriatric medicine.
