Md Shopon is a computer scientist specializing in privacy-preserving biometric systems and trustworthy machine learning. He completed his Master of Science in Computer Science at the University of Calgary in 2022, conducting his graduate research under the supervision of Dr. Marina Gavrilova. His work focuses on advancing secure and privacy-aware biometric solutions through the use of deep learning, generative AI, and robust machine learning techniques. He has authored more than 24 international peer-reviewed research papers, contributing to areas such as biometric security, face de-identification, adversarial resilience, and ethical AI. Driven by a commitment to building safe, reliable, and human-centered biometric technologies, Md Shopon continues to explore innovative approaches that balance performance, fairness, and privacy—supporting real-world applications in security, healthcare identification, and intelligent systems.
