Biography
Dr. Marni Armstrong is a clinical kinesiologist and earned her PhD in Cardiovascular and Respiratory Sciences from the University of Calgary and completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Epidemiology at the University of Pittsburgh School of Public Health. Upon returning to Alberta, she joined Alberta Health Services as Assistant Scientific Director for Kidney Health within the Medicine Strategic Clinical Network. Since 2025, she has served as Scientific Lead for Supportive Care Services and Patient Experience at Cancer Care Alberta, where she supports the integration of evidence into practice to improve patient outcomes and experiences.

I am a health services researcher with expertise in implementation science and applied health research. As an embedded researcher within the healthcare system, I work to integrate research evidence into practice, support the development of quality indicators, and advance data and reporting infrastructure within a learning health system. My previous research focused on behavioral lifestyle interventions for chronic disease prevention and management. Currently, my work centers on the implementation, evaluation, and optimization of patient-reported outcomes and patient experience measures to improve care delivery and enhance the patient experience across the cancer continuum
