Biography

Dr. Kerba is a GI, lung and palliative radiation oncologist at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre and a clinical associate professor in the Department of Oncology at the University of Calgary, Cumming School of Medicine. He completed his medical training at the University of Toronto and radiation oncology residency at McMaster University. Dr. Kerba was awarded a CIHR sponsored fellowship in health services research at Queen’s University, Cancer Research Institute, and obtained a Master’s of Public Administration in health policy. He is currently involved in several committees; as a Royal College examiner in radiation oncology, as Alberta’s representative on the Canadian Partnership Against Cancer System Performance Steering Committee, as a member of the Canadian Cancer Trials Group Economics Committee, a GI panel advisor to the pan-Canadian Oncology Drug Review/ Canadian Agency for Drugs and Technologies in Health and work with the American Society of Clinical Oncology Quality of Care Committee.

Summary of Research

Dr. Marc Kerba's research interests include health services research in the provision of cancer services, clinical trials both at the local and national level and he is currently involved in several research initiatives aimed at improving care for our patients with advanced cancer.
