Background

Biography

Following Rheumatology training in London, UK, and a PhD and post-doc at Imperial College, Dr Larche emigrated from the UK to McMaster University in Ontario. Building clinical and research experience in early rheumatoid arthritis with ultrasound imaging, and in systemic sclerosis has been an important part of her career.

Several educational initiatives have driven dissemination of knowledge with CME events in systemic sclerosis on a bi-annual basis, and annual patient information sessions.

Through directorship of the Canadian Scleroderma Research Group, she is expanding the internationally acclaimed database, with clinical data and biospecimens to help inform clinical and research directions in the care of patients with systemic sclerosis.

Precision medicine in our patients with rheumatological diseases can be accomplished through careful biobanking and linked clinical data, along with robust basic science experimentation aiming to find the most appropriate medication for each individual patient, resulting in the best possible outcomes.
