Research
Areas of Research
My research focuses on investigating novel laboratory techniques to improve the ability to detect both hyper- and hypo-coagulable states. The aim of the research is to determine if there are effective point-of-care techniques that can be utilized to guide anti-coagulant management during pregnancy, and also be used to guide decision-making regarding invasive anesthetic techniques while parturients are receiving anti-coagulant medications. Other goals will include improved dosing of pregnant patients while on anti-coagulant medication, in order to balance the risk of thrombosis and bleeding complications.
