Kevin Christopher Vibat (he/him) is a current PhD student in the Department of Geography at the University of Calgary. His research explores the responsible governance of gene editing technologies as a climate solution in Canada’s beef cattle industry. Kevin holds multidisciplinary degrees in Environmental Sciences, Cellular, Molecular, and Microbial Biology, along with a master’s in business management. He has been involved within the climate movement in Calgary since 2022, raising awareness for climate justice and sustainability while building communities to inspire actions. Kevin was also involved in the renewal for the University of Calgary’s sustainability strategy and its successful application to lead the United Nations Sustainability Development Solutions Network (SDSN) in Canada.
