Biography
Dr. Kenton Rommens obtained his MD at the University of Alberta and completed his General Surgery and Vascular Surgery training at the University of Calgary. He then completed an Advanced Thoracic Aortic Surgery and Structural Heart fellowship at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. He returned to Calgary in November 2019 to join the Division of Vascular Surgery and is a Clinical Professor in the Department of Surgery. His practice focuses on complex aortic disease, including open thoracoabdominal aortic repair, endovascular aortic arch repair, fenestrated and physician-modified endografts, and complex aortic dissection. He is a member of the multidisciplinary Calgary Aortic Program at the Libin Cardiovascular Institute.
He is Program Director of the University of Calgary Vascular Surgery Residency Program, co-director of the Libin Cardiovascular Institute's Advanced Aortic Surgery Fellowship, and Director of the Office of Surgical Quality for the Department of Surgery. Nationally and internationally, he serves on the Royal College Vascular Surgery Specialty Committee and the Society for Vascular Surgery's Document Oversight and Quality and Performance Measures Committees, and is a former member of the Canadian Society for Vascular Surgery Executive Committee.
