Areas of Research
As a developmental psychology researcher, I take a positive psychology lens to the study of social and emotional development from childhood to emerging adulthood. I am primarily interested in the intersection of social and emotional well-being, positive relationships, and academic engagement. This includes parent-child relationships, peer relationships, and teacher-child relationships as mechanisms that facilitate the developmental of self-awareness, self-regulation, adaptability, cooperation, empathy, and compassion in young learners. I also connect this work to sense of belonging in a learning environment, and behavioural and cognitive engagement across levels of education.
