Background

Biography

Katie (Katherine) is a Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) who supports the Department of Critical Care Medicine within the Calgary Zone. Within this role, Katie collaborates with nursing and interdisciplinary stakeholders within the DCCM and beyond. Roles and responsibilities include supporting/leading change initiatives, quality improvement and assurance activities, the development and provision of critical care nursing education/specialty certification, knowledge translation, policy/practice development, and participation in interdisciplinary and nursing research. 

Katie has over 15 years of experience within critical care.  She has worked as a CNS since 2020, and prior as a Clinical Nurse Educator within Intensive Care and Coronary Care.
