Katelyn Greer

Biography

Katelyn Greer (she/her, they/them) is a youth engagement researcher and applied community scholar whose work focuses on embedding lived experience, equity, and meaningful participation into health and social research. Based in Calgary, Alberta, Katelyn works at the intersection of research, practice, and systems change, supporting teams to design research processes that are ethically grounded, youth-centred, and responsive to real-world contexts.

Katelyn brings both professional expertise and lived experience to their research practice, using this dual perspective to critically examine how power, voice, and participation operate within research and service systems. Their work emphasizes co-design, participatory and community-based research approaches, and practical knowledge mobilization strategies that translate research into action across academic, community, and policy settings.

In their current role, Katelyn collaborates with interdisciplinary research teams, community organizations, and youth partners to strengthen research quality, engagement practices, and implementation outcomes. Katelyn has particular expertise in youth mental health, peer support, integrated youth services, and the ethical integration of lived experience within research and evaluation. Katelyn is committed to advancing research practices that not only generate knowledge, but also contribute to more just, inclusive, and accountable systems of care.

Katelyn is always interested in connecting with youth and people with lived experience, as well as researchers and community partners who are exploring participatory, equity-oriented approaches to research.
