Dr. Katayoon Etemad

Biography

Katayoon is a computer scientist specializing in information visualization and human computer interaction. Currently working as a research associate at the University of Calgary, working in the Graphics, Interaction, and Visualization Group (GIV)  Her main research interest is designing, engaging and appealing visualizations for complex data-sets. She published several research papers in this area, and her goal in each of them has been to introduce alternative visualization techniques in order to make the communication with complex and large data-sets, easier for public audience.  In collaboration with  Archeology Department, she is working on Digitally Preserving Alberta's Diverse Cultural Heritage, designing and fabricating physicalization for heritage resources in Alberta.
