Background

Biography

Dr Wang is an Intensivist and Clinical Assistant Professor with the Department of Critical Care Medicine in Calgary. She has been the Medical Director of the Rockyview General Hospital ICU since 2018. She completed her Critical Care Medicine fellowship at the University of Calgary in 2015 following her Internal Medicine residency iat the University of Saskatchewan. Following that, she spent another 2 years of training in Melbourne, Australia, obtaining experience in extracorporeal life support, subspecialty critical care (heart and lung transplants, burns, and trauma), in addition to completing an ICU Echocardiography Fellowship. She then completed a further 6 months of Echo training in Calgary and has considerable expertise in Critical Care Ultrasound, holding the Diploma of Diagnostic Ultrasound (Critical Care) from the Australasian Society for Ultrasound in Medicine and Testamur status for the American Board Examinations in Adult Echocardiography and Critical Care Echocardiography. In addition to her interests in cardiovascular intensive care and critical care ultrasound, she is also passionate about medical education. She has taught throughout her career both informally and formally at local and national venues.  Originally from Saskatoon, she grew up in Hong Kong, and Australia is now the third country she has lived in.
