Jesse Eaton is a graduate student in the history department, where he studies Black slavery in Canada and the United States. He is working on a project to map the contours of the remaining Black Loyalist community in Nova Scotia after 1792. In assisting Professor Harvey Amani Whitfield, he is also researching and contributing to detailed biographical sketches of black female slaves in the Maritimes. He received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Vermont, where he studied history and philosophy.
