Biography
Jessica is an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner in Intensive Care at the Peter Lougheed Hospital. She has worked in Alberta Health Services for over 15 years. She started her nursing career in ICU, then after completing her MN thesis she worked as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Palliative Care. As a nurse practitioner, Jessica has experience in inpatient Neurology and Cardiology (CCU) prior to joining the DCCM in 2022.
Jessica's role in ICU includes assessing, diagnosing and treating people with life-threatening illness. She is involved in every phase of care, including resuscitation as code team leader, consultation, day-to-day treatment in ICU, and follow up after ICU discharge.
Jessica's areas of research interest include Adult Congenital Heart Disease, integrating palliative care in practice, enhancing NP practice, and processes to engage nurses and APNs in research.
