Biography

Jaime Castillo is a Ph.D. student and financial industry professional known for his academic excellence and leadership. He received a scholarship from the National University of Colombia for his outstanding GPA. The Peruvian University of Applied Sciences awarded him the "Entrepreneurial Creativity" Merit Diploma for his participation in establishing Peru's first Income Share Agreement investment fund.

Jaime began his career as a data analyst at Lumni, a company that funds higher education. He advanced to the research director and Chief Technology Officer positions, leading a technological overhaul that expanded the company's reach from 1,000 to 20,000 students across five countries. He is a board member for a USA-based non-profit dedicated to developing affordable and inclusive educational funding solutions for vulnerable populations in the USA and Kenya.

As a Ph.D. student at the Haskayne School of Business, Jaime analyzes the blockchain ecosystem. Over the past three years, he has worked on two papers examining value transfer processes across blockchains and their integration with the traditional financial sector.
