Biography

Hooman Hidaji is assistant professor of Business Technology Management (BTM) at Haskayne School of Business, University of Calgary. He joined Haskayne in 2017 after graduating with Ph.D. in Business, Operations and Information Systems from University of Alberta. He holds a M.Sc. in Industrial and Financial Engineering from Amirkabir University of Technology and a B.Sc. in Industrial Engineering from Iran University of Science and Technology. Hooman’s current research interests include economics of information systems, data privacy and protection regulation, data portability, platforms, online information sharing, and information and communication technology supply chains. He uses a wide set of methodologies in his research, including economic modeling, game theory, optimization, and econometrics. Hooman has been awarded several grants, including Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC) Insight Development Grant and Insight Grant. His publications appear in prestigious journals such as Information Systems Research, MIS Quarterly, and Production and Operations Management; and have been featured in London School of Economics Business Review and The Globe and Mail. Hooman is currently an Associate Editor at the Information Technology and Management journal. His teaching is focused on data analytics, predictive analytics, and econometrics for business school students.
