Background

Biography

Dr. Holly Lee is a clinician-scientist at the University of Calgary specializing in multiple myeloma biology and novel immunotherapy development. She completed her medical training at the University of Toronto, followed by internal medicine and hematology residency at the University of Calgary. She completed her Ph.D in Dr. Nizar Bahlis lab, focusing on investigating multiple myeloma tumor intrinsic resistance mechanisms and antigen escape under immunotherapeutic pressure.

  • Immunotherapy
  • Mechanisms of resistance
Summary of Research

Dr. Lee’s research program focuses on how immune pressure and targeted immunotherapies shape tumor evolution, with particular emphasis on resistance to T-cell engagers and CAR T-cell therapies. Her team integrates multi-omic profiling, mechanistic modeling, and engineered model systems to explore how tumor cells rewire their phenotype in response to therapy. Ultimately, Dr. Lee aims to translate biological insights into strategies that improve immune-based treatments.
