Background

Biography

Helen Tam-Tham, MD, PhD, CCFP(PC), is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Departments of Family Medicine and Oncology at the University of Calgary. She completed her undergraduate, graduate, and medical school training at the University of Calgary, followed by her Family Medicine and Enhanced Palliative Care Residency Programs at the University of Toronto. Dr Tam-Tham has a comprehensive Family Medicine practice and is a Palliative Care consulting physician. She is also one of the attending palliative care physicians in the intensive palliative care unit at the Arthur J.E. Child Comprehensive Cancer Centre.

Dr Tam-Tham’s research focuses on improving healthcare service delivery, enhancing the provision of primary and specialist palliative and end-of-life care, evaluating and implementing clinical tools to enhance symptom management and serious illness conversations for people living with life-limiting diseases.
