Biography

Hayley Todesco is a biomanufacturing technician specializing in quality control within the RCCI. She first joined the Mahoney lab in 2019 working on bioreactor-based production of oncolytic rhabdoviruses and pseudotyped viral vaccines, and has since pursued her interests in developing molecular assays supporting recent clinical trial applications. Before joining the team, she received her BSc Honours in Molecular Genetics from the University of Alberta with an additional Certificate in Biological Research. With experience working in multiple biological research labs during her education, Hayley brings a diverse background in petroleum microbiology, bioreactor design, bioremediation, algae cultivation, developmental genetics, and zebrafish physiology to her current focus on quality control. She also enjoys beekeeping, tropical plants, knitting, and baking.
