Biography

 Gouri is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Electrical and Software Engineering at the University of Calgary. She worked in the Information Technology (IT) industry - Hewlett Packard Enterprises, Bengaluru, India - for a decade in various roles, such as Software Engineer and Senior Software Engineer before pursuing a PhD. Gouri holds PhD in Computer Science from the University of Calgary. She specializes in Software Requirements Engineering, Software Engineering (SE) for Machine Learning and Applied Data Science in Healthcare. 

 Gouri is the Scientific Director of the Software Hub for AnalytiKs, Technology and Innovation (SHAKTI) laboratory at the University of Calgary. The vision of her research lab is to identify and solve real-world software-centric problems. Specifically, she and her team are researching Applied Data Science in SE, AI ethics in SE and SE professional ethics in post-graduate education; Gouri actively seeks collaborations with the industry to bridge industry-academia gaps and foster innovation.
