Biography

Gordon is Professor Emeritus in the Department of Community Health Sciences (DCHS), Cumming School of Medicine (CSM), at The University of Calgary (UofC), Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

His research interests are in the field of biostatistics and in health/medical fields that use biostatistical methodology.

He has taught graduate courses in Biostatistics and undergraduate courses in Statistics, Biostatistics and Calculus.

Nationally, he is a member of the Statistical Society of Canada(SSC). He has served as regional representative on the board of directors from 1989 to 1991 and from 1996 to 1998 He has served as President of the Biostatistics Section of the SSC (2004/2005). He has also served as member and as Chair of the Pierre Robillard Award Committee(Robillard) of the SSC.

Provincially, he taken on a number of roles for the Alberta Heritage Foundation for Medical Research (AIHS) [now called Alberta Innovates : Health Solutions] and with SEARCH Canada.

He is host and programmer of a Jazz radio show on CJSW 90.9 in Calgary.
