Dr. Gonzalo Garcia Guerra

Dr. Gonzalo Garcia Guerra completed his training in Pediatric Critical Care at the Stollery Children’s Hospital in Edmonton. He has also completed a Masters in Clinical Epidemiology and a PhD in Pediatrics at the University of Alberta. Along with his clinical work he has been an active clinical researcher and has been involved in single center and multi-center clinical trials. His research work has involved several studies looking at nutrition, transfusion medicine, sedation and analgesia, health related quality of life, neurodevelopmental and long term outcomes after critical illness in children. He believes his mission as an intensivist and a leader is to provide high quality, evidence-based clinical care to treat critically ill children so they cannot only survive their illness but also recover and achieve their maximum potential later in life.
