My research explores the dynamic interplay between urbanization, plant community ecology, and ecosystem function. I focus on understanding how urban site legacies, environmental conditions, and species availability shape the trajectories of plant communities in human-dominated systems. Using an innovative combination of field surveys, remote sensing, and machine learning, I investigate how these ecological trajectories impact ecosystem services and biodiversity trade-offs in cities. My current work addresses key questions about the drivers and consequences of biodiversity change, with the aim of identifying sustainable and equitable pathways for urban environmental management, including urban forest management and urban greening. I welcome inquiries for collaboration with students, researchers, and community partners who share an interest in urban ecology, ecosystem services, or the application of cutting-edge tools to in pursuit of greener cities!
