Biography
Feynman Fookoo-Zawa is an MA student in Political Science at the University of Calgary, with a primary focus on Canadian politics.
He first earned a Bachelor of Science with Distinction from the Faculty of Agricultural, Life & Environmental Sciences at the University of Alberta, before completing a second undergraduate degree, an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with High Distinction, at the University of Toronto. While studying at the University of Toronto, he also briefly served in the Canadian Army Reserve with the 48th Highlanders of Canada.
One of his major research projects at the University of Toronto examined the gradual decline of Chinese identity in Taiwan and the role of Beijing’s Taiwan policy in shaping political identity and public opinion. His current research builds on this earlier interest in identity formation by examining Western alienation, Alberta separatism, and the development of a distinct Albertan political identity within the Canadian federation.
