During her long career, Dr. Jameson's scholarship and teaching focused on the histories of women, gender, and labour in the North American West, western borderlands and comparative histories of the U.S. and Canadian West. Her publications include One Step over the Line: Toward a History of Women in the North American Wests (2008), All That Glitters: Class Conflict, and Community in Cripple Creek (1998), Writing the Range: Race, Class, and Culture in the Women's West (1997), and numerous others.
She served as President of the Western History Association (2014-2015), the Pacific Coast Branch-American Historical Association (2004-2205), on the Councils of the Western History Association, Pacific Coast Branch-American Historical Association, Labor and Working Class History Association, and the Canadian Historical Association.
She delivered annual public chair lectures during her years as the Imperial Oil-Lincoln McKay Chair. During her retirement, she edited these lectures for publication. Her book, Thresholds, Walls, and Bridges is forthcoming from the University of Calgary Press in Fall 2025. She occasionally does invited lectures and consults with historical projects and institutions.
She currently enjoys spending time with her son, daughter-in-law, and two grandsons.
