Areas of Research
Dr. Castillo's research focuses on closing the gap between what we know helps mother and babies live healthy lives and what actually happens in everyday clinical practice: this is called implementation science. She partners with patients to understand their journey during pregnancy, focusing on opportunities to engage in a dialogue about interventions that we know can protect mothers and babies, like vaccinations. This information is needed to implement and evaluate vaccination in pregnancy policies and programs.
