Biography
I graduated from Sydney University with bachelor's and master's degrees in mechanical engineering and I hold a PhD in aeronautics from Imperial College, London. I spent over 20 years as an academic at the University of Newcastle, Australia with a break of one year working at NASA Ames Research Center, California. In 2005 I left the university to set up my own business in wind energy and continued in this until 2010 when I became the NSERC/ENMAX Industrial Research Chair in Renewable Energy at Calgary in 2010. That position lasted until 2017. I am currently the Schulich Chair in Renewable Energy and a director of the Wind Energy Institute of Canada. I am also an editor for three research journals in renewable energy.
