Biography

Dr. David Campbell is an Internal Medicine specialist with subspecialty training in Endocrinology & Metabolism and advanced research training in Health Services Research. He holds a BSc in Kinesiology from McGill University, an MSc(R) in Anthropology of Health and Illness from the University of Edinburgh, as well as MD and PhD in Community Health Sciences (HSR) from the University of Calgary. He completed his post-doctoral research training at the MAP Centre for Urban Health Solutions at St. Michael’s Hospital in Toronto. His area of research is social disparities and their impacts on clinical outcomes of metabolic diseases (diabetes, obesity, hypertension). He has extensive experience using mixed methods and participatory patient-oriented research. His current research program focuses on the development of novel interventions to improve the care and outcomes for socially disadvantaged populations with diabetes.
